ISU study finds wives have greater power in marriage problem-solving behavior
A team of Iowa State researchers conducted a study of 72 married couples and found that wives, on average, exhibit greater situational power than their husbands during problem-solving discussions, regardless of who raised the topic.
Cyclone women's basketball attendance ranks 7th nationally
Iowa State women's basketball ranked seventh nationally in NCAA Division I attendance, according to recently released NCAA figures. The Cyclones averaged 8,906 fans per game to rank in the top 10 for the eighth straight season.

Hawthorne Market & Cafe closed for the day
ISU's Hawthorne Market & Cafe will be closed today due to a power outage in Frederiksen Court. Power has been restored to most of the student apartments in the area, but the Community Center, including the cafe, won't have electric service until later today. ISU mosquito researcher in Science
ISU entomologist Lyric Bartholomay is part of the international team that identified 350 genes in the immune system of a tropical disease-transmitting mosquito and looked at their evolution as compared to two other species. Their paper was published in the June 21 edition of the journal Science.

The Cyclones have won the "most dominant college mascot" tourney sponsored by CBS SportsLine.com. In the final contest, the Cyclones bested the Arkansas Razorbacks by pulling 53 percent of the online vote. An active Cyclone Facebook group spurred Cyclone voters.
