About 60 of the nation's top educational technology experts earned the honor. She was recognized for her leadership in integrating technology in K-12 classrooms in Iowa. Distinguished Educators test new Apple technologies, present at key conferences and lead workshops. Schmidt coordinates Iowa State's educational computing minor program and teaches instructional technology and ready methodology courses. She is a consultant for K-12 teachers who seek to integrate technology into their teaching and learning.
