POWER CUT TO KILDEE HALL

AMES, Iowa -- A contractor, working on the Kildee Hall addition project, inadvertently cut a primary high-voltage cable to the building. Nobody was injured and there is no danger to any of the occupants, ISU officials said.

The 4,000-volt line was cut at 10:45 a.m. The building will not be evacuated, but classes are being moved. Repair is expected to be completed by 6 p.m.

University officials currently are trying to determine the possible effects of no power on research projects in the building. Heat still goes to the building, but there is no power for the fans to circulate it.
