ISU program transforms landscape and lives in prison

A group of landscape architecture students from Iowa State have been working on several projects to improve the grounds at the Iowa Correctional Institution for Women in Mitchellville. This year's project includes nearly an acre of herb and vegetable gardens that will be used to provide the prison with fresh produce grown right on the grounds. For the ISU students, the project has been a great learning experience. But for some of the women living inside the facility, it has truly been a life-changing experience.
