ISU professor is telling stories using puppets made from trash

Amanda Petefish-Schrag has been working with puppets since she was 4 years old. She spent 20 years traveling around the Midwest with her family performing shows, and learning everything about the craft. As she started teaching theatre at Iowa State, Petefish-Schrag became more interested in the types of materials she could use to build her puppets. Materials that would help shape the stories themselves. So she turned to trash.
