Regents universities to host information session for eighth-grade students, families

AMES, Iowa -- Iowa State University, the University of Iowa and University of Northern Iowa invite eighth-grade students and their families to learn more about the college planning process at a free program on Sunday, April 10, at the John and Mary Pappajohn Education Center, 1200 Grand Ave., Des Moines. The event will be held from 3 to 4 p.m.

Career exploration, financial planning and course selection are among the topics that will be addressed. Students from each of the three universities also will be on hand to share their experiences.

"Iowa State is excited to collaborate with the University of Iowa and UNI to promote opportunities for academic excellence in higher education," said Marc Harding, director of admissions at Iowa State. "It's never too early to begin the college planning process and start thinking about the options available to students and their families."
