Emergency care seminar for pet owners set for Sept. 27 at ISU

AMES, Iowa -- Two Iowa State University veterinarians will offer basic information on emergency care for dog and cat owners during their seminar, "K-911," at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, in 2226 Veterinary Medicine building. The seminar is free and open to the public.

During the one-hour session, Drs. Beth Streeter and Kim Langholz will explain how to know when your pet needs immediate veterinary care. They also will discuss basic care in emergency situations, such as trauma, severe lethargy or vomiting/diarrhea.

Streeter is head of the emergency unit and Langholz is a community practice veterinarian at the College of Veterinary Medicine's Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
