Tonight Show's Mo Rocca to provide free performance Dec. 3

AMES, Iowa -- Comedian Mo Rocca will perform at 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, in the Great Hall of the Memorial Union at Iowa State University. "The Comedy of Mo Rocca," is free and open to the public.

Rocca contributes off-beat news reports and satirical commentary on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "CBS Sunday Morning." He also is a regular panelist on NPR's quiz show, "Wait, Wait ... Don't Tell Me," a frequent guest on "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" and "Larry King Live," and a judge on "Iron Chef America." Rocca is a former correspondent on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart."

A native of Washington, D.C., Rocca earned a bachelor's degree at Harvard University, where he was president of Hasty Pudding Theatricals. He began his career in TV as a writer and producer for the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning PBS children's series "Wishbone."

Rocca's performance is sponsored by the Committee on Lectures and the Student Union Board, which will also provide free popcorn.
