Madeleine Albright will speak at Iowa State University September 14

AMES, Iowa--Former United States Secretary of State Madeleine Albright will speak at Iowa State University at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14 in the Sun Room of the Memorial Union. Her talk, "Restoring America's Standing in the World," is free and open to the public.

Albright also held positions in the National Security Council, on Capitol Hill and as U.S. representative to the United Nations.

Albright was a research professor of international affairs and director of the Women in Foreign Service Program at Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service. She taught undergraduate and graduate courses in international affairs, U.S. foreign policy, Russian foreign policy, and Central and Eastern European politics, and was responsible for developing and implementing programs designed to enhance women's professional opportunities in international affairs.

The lecture is sponsored by the World Affairs Series, Students for Hillary Clinton, ISU Democrats and Committee on Lectures (funded by the Government of the Student Body).
