Daily Show's Aasif Mandvi set for free comedy performance Sept. 28 at ISU

AMES, Iowa -- Aasif Mandvi, of "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," will perform at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28 at Stephens Auditorium at Iowa State University. Admission is free. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Mandvi's political reporting antics as The Daily Show's Baghdad bureau chief have been a highlight of the Emmy Award-winning comedy program. In his performance at Iowa State, he will bring clips of the show and talk about reporting on the best "fake" news program on television.

Mandvi received a 1999 OBIE award for his critically acclaimed, one-man show, "Sakina's Restaurant." His film and television credits include "Spider-Man 2," "Freedomland," "Analyze This," "The Sopranos," "CSI," "Law and Order" and "ER."

The performance is sponsored by the Lectures Program and the Student Union Board.
