ISU APPOINTS ASSISTANT VP FOR STUDENT AFFAIRS

AMES, Iowa – Teresa Branch, assistant vice president for student affairs at Arizona State University, Tempe, has been appointed assistant vice president for student affairs at Iowa State University. The appointment is effective Aug. 1.

As assistant vice president, Branch will be responsible for student affairs program assessment and planning, including strategic planning, budgeting, human resources and department program reviews; and oversight of substance abuse prevention and intervention programs.

Branch has been assistant vice president for student affairs at ASU since 1996. She also has served as director of counseling and consultation at ASU since 1987, and adjunct professor of counseling psychology at ASU since 1984. Since 1993, she has been co-director of AZ Leadership 2000 & Beyond, a leadership program for women. Branch also has held counseling positions at the University of Washington, Seattle, and Seattle University.

She received a B.A. in psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1970; an M.A. in criminal justice from the State University of New York, Albany, in 1971; and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Washington, Seattle, in 1976.

The assistant vice president for student affairs at ISU is a newly created position.
