LOGISTICS EXPERT TO KEYNOTE ISU’S VOORHEES LECTURE

AMES, Iowa -- George Gecowets, executive vice president of the Council of Logistics Management (CLM), will deliver the 8th annual Voorhees Lecture at 1:15 p.m. Friday, March 31, in 204-208 Scheman Building, Iowa State Center. Iowa State University’s College of Business sponsors the annual lecture. It is free and open to the public.

CLM provides programs and services related to logistics education to colleges and universities. During Gecowets’ 30-year tenure as executive director, CLM membership has increased from less than 500 to more than 14,000.

The Voorhees Lecture was established in 1993 to provide opportunities for Iowa State students, faculty, staff and alumni to interact with industry leaders in transportation and logistics. The annual event honors R. Dale Voorhees, professor emeritus of transportation and logistics who taught at Iowa State for 20 years.
