ISU NAMES NEW INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH DIRECTOR

AMES, Iowa – Gebre H. Tesfagiorgis, director of institutional research and planning at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, has been named director of institutional research at Iowa State University. He will begin his new duties on June 1.

As director of institutional research, Tesfagiorgis will be responsible for the collection, interpretation and use of institutional data.

Tesfagiorgis has been director of institutional research and planning at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, since 1992. Prior to this, he was senior policy and planning analyst at the University of Wisconsin, Madison from 1986 to 1992.

Tesfagiorgis received a B.B.A. in management from Haile Selassie I University, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in 1971. He received three degrees from the University of Wisconsin, Madison: a M.S. in educational administration (1975), a Ph.D. in educational administration (1978), and a law degree (1988).

Former director of institutional research, Elizabeth Stanley, recently retired.
