ENTREPRENEURSHIP EXPERT TO SPEAK AT ISU MARCH 10

AMES, Iowa -- John Butler, an expert on entrepreneurship, will speak as part of Iowa State University’s Miller Lecture Series at 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 10, in Room 205 Carver Hall. Iowa State’s College of Business and the department of sociology host Butler’s speech. It is free and open to the public.

Butler is a professor of management and sociology at The University of Texas, Austin. He specializes in organizational behavior, new venture development and minority entrepreneurship. He will speak on "Creating the Technopolis: Lessons from IC2 for Wealth Creation, Job Creation and Regional Prosperity."

Butler also will meet with Iowa State’s student Entrepreneurship Club, tour the Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship in the ISU Research Park and meet with faculty from both the College of Business and the department of sociology.

The Miller Lecture series is an annual slate of university-wide speakers funded by the Miller Endowment Trust. In 1995, ISU received part of an estate bequeathed by F. Wendell Miller, an Iowa attorney and farm manager. Revenue from the endowment is used to improve undergraduate teaching at ISU and to enhance the intellectual vitality of the campus.
