IOWA STATE TO OFFER YOUTH EXERCISE PROGRAM IN APRIL

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State University’s College of Education will host a four-week, six-lesson pre-school and early elementary youth exercise program from April 5 - 24 in the Barbara E. Forker Building. Registrations are due March 31.

The program is open only to residents of Ames and nearby communities due to limited enrollment. Classes meet every Monday and Wednesday afternoon beginning at 3 p.m. There is no cost for this program.

Activities will include gymnastics, fundamental movements and games. Children should wear comfortable clothing and athletic shoes.

Kathi Thomas-Thomas, associate professor of health and human performance, has been working with youth athletics for 30-years. She also is author of the infant swimming guide used by more than 2,000 YMCAs nationwide. She is a member of the American Swimming Coaches Association.
