ISU COLLEGE OF BUSINESS FACULTY RECOGNIZED FOR PUBLICATIONS

AMES, Iowa – Sales research by Iowa State University College of Business faculty has been recognized by the "Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management."

The journal ranked the business faculty second in the number of authors and tied for fourth in the number of published journal articles on selling and sales management in 16 academic journals.

About 175 universities and 280 authors were in the study. The study spanned a publication period of 1993 to1997.

The study demonstrates an increase in scholarly activity in selling and sales management at the college, said Russ Laczniak, professor of marketing and chair of the departments of marketing and management.

"Our students are exposed to the latest in personal selling and sales management topics," said Laczniak. "It is an honor to be a leading institution in generating research in the sales arena."

Laczniak credited the recognition to the leadership efforts of Roy Teas, distinguished professor of marketing, and the contributions of Sanjeev Agarwal, Sridhar Ramaswami, and Thomas DeCarlo, all associate professors of marketing. He also noted the work of Jim McElroy, professor of management.

The recognitions were announced in the Spring 2000 issue. The calculation for authorships takes into account multiple articles by the same author.
