ISU GRADUATE AND PROFESSIONAL SCHOOL DAY IS OCT. 11

AMES, Iowa -- Iowa State University's annual Graduate and Professional School Day will be Wednesday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Great Hall, Memorial Union.

Graduate and Professional School Day provides an opportunity for students and others to explore graduate and professional school options with more than 80 representatives from universities and colleges nationwide, including Iowa State's Graduate College.

Among the topics covered at the event are admission requirements, costs, time required to complete programs, employment prospects for graduates, and student life. More information about the day is available on the Web at http://www.public.iastate.edu/~career_info/gpd2000.html.

A series of seminars on preparing for graduate work will be offered on Tuesday, Oct. 10, in the Pioneer Room, Memorial Union. A listing of the seminars is below.

  • 11 a.m. Making the Best of Graduate and Professional School Day
  • 12:10 p.m. Graduate Opportunities for Underrepresented Groups
  • 1:10 p.m. Financing Graduate Education
  • 2:10 p.m. Choosing and Applying to Graduate and Professional Schools
  • 3:10 p.m. Preparing for Admission to Law School
  • 4:10 p.m. Preparing for Admission to Medical Programs
  • 5:10 p.m. Applying for Prestigious Scholarships and Fellowships
