ISU SOLAR CAR STUDENTS VISIT IOWA CITY FOR GREEN FAIR

AMES, Iowa -- Iowa State University's solar car team, Team PrISUm, will be in Iowa City Sunday, Oct. 1, taking part in Green Fair, a conference on environmentally friendly products, services and businesses and holistic health.

Green Fair will be held at Regina High School in Iowa City beginning at 9:30 a.m. The ISU solar car team will have the PrISUm Phoenix car on display and will discuss solar car racing and alternative energy technologies.

"We are excited to participate in Green Fair," said Nick Mohr, an ISU student and director of Team PrISUm. "We feel it is important to educate people on solar energy and alternative energy technologies because these will be the energy sources of our future."

Last year, the ISU solar car team raced PrISUm Phoenix to fifth place in Sunrayce 99, the best finish of any ISU solar car team in a Sunrayce competition.

Team PrISUm -- a student organized and student run group -- is currently designing and building their sixth solar car, PrISUm Odyssey. They will race Odyssey in the 2001 American Solar Challenge, a Chicago to Los Angeles race next July. For more information on Team PrISUm, visit their website at: http://www.prisum.iastate.edu/.
