ISU PAPPAJOHN CENTER RECEIVES $10,000 GRANT TO EXPAND ENTREPRENEURIAL INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State University Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship, an outreach arm of the College of Business, has received a $10,000 grant from the Kauffman Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership to expand the center's entrepreneurial internship program.

The grant allows the center to increase the number of students who participate in the program from 16 to possibly as many as 20 students for the 2001-2002 academic year.

Founded in 1997 as a summer internship program with seed money from the Kauffman Center, the internship program was first expanded in 1999 when Iowa State alumnus Roy Reiman gave an endowed gift to take the program year-round. Students receive education and hands-on experience in entrepreneurial environments.

"We believe our internship program is the most valuable experience we offer to students," said Judi Eyles, assistant director of the Pappajohn Center. "And, the students do great things to help our start-up companies."
