REGENTS TO MEET, EVALUATE IOWA STATE FINALISTS
AMES, Iowa – The Board of Regents, State of Iowa, will convene at 4
p.m., Sunday,
Jan. 21, to begin evaluating the four finalists for the presidency of
Iowa State University. The meeting will be at the University Park Holiday
Inn, West Des Moines, and will continue Monday, Jan. 22.
The regents will convene Sunday in open session and then go into closed
session.
The four finalists are: Sharon Stephens Brehm, provost and professor of
psychology at Ohio University, Athens; Gregory L. Geoffroy, senior vice
president for academic affairs and provost at the University of Maryland,
College Park; Cora Bagley Marrett, senior vice chancellor for academic
affairs and provost at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst; and James
L. Melsa, dean of the College of Engineering and professor of electrical and
computer engineering, Iowa State University.
