The ASC is a Chicago to Los Angeles solar car race, July 15-25. It will be the longest solar car race ever attempted and will go through Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California. The Iowa State team will leave Ames in two groups. The first group departs July 8 with the car and heads to Michigan for qualifiers. The team will attempt to re-qualify its car with a new set of batteries. The second group will leave Ames on July 13 and meet the first group in Chicago. The entire team will return to Ames August 1. Following is more information about the event.
