NATIONAL MARKETING EXPERT TO SPEAK AT ISU APRIL 6

AMES, Iowa -- Shelby Hunt, professor of marketing at Texas Tech University, Lubbock, will speak at Iowa State University as part of the Miller Lecture Series on Friday, April 6.

Hunt will speak on marketing theory, ethics, strategy and competition theory at 1:10 p.m. April 6 in room 205 Carver Hall.

Hunt holds two marketing distinctions at Texas Tech -- the J.B. Hoskins professor of marketing since 1994 and the Paul Whitfield Horn professor of marketing since 1983. His most recent book is "A General Theory of Competition: Resources, Competencies, Productivity, and Economic Growth."

He will also meet with students, faculty and staff during his Iowa State visit.

The Miller Lecture Series is an annual slate of university-wide speakers funded by the Miller Endowment Trust. In 1995, Iowa State received part of an estate bequeathed by F. Wendell Miller, an Iowa attorney and farm manager. Revenue from the endowment is used to improve undergraduate teaching and to enhance the intellectual vitality of the campus.
