SUMMER INTERNSHIPS OFFERED FOR HIGH SCHOOL WOMEN

AMES, Iowa -- Iowa State University's Program for Women in Science and Engineering (PWSE) is sponsoring a summer internship program for women entering their senior year of high school.

The program is a six-week internship on the Iowa State campus where students are matched with ISU scientists and engineers to gain hands-on research experience in their preferred field. Next year's program dates are June 17 through July 26. Interns will work 40 hours per week attending weekly seminars, writing research reports and preparing a cumulative presentation of their work. Participants will receive a $1,500 stipend.

Deadline for applications is January 23, 2002. The number of internships will vary depending upon funding and available staff. Applications are available on the PWSE website: http://www.public.iastate.edu/~pwse_info, or by calling (515) 294-0966.
