ROSENBERG NAMED CHAIR OF IOWA STATE PHYSICS DEPARTMENT

AMES, Iowa - Eli Rosenberg, professor of physics, has been named chair of the department of physics and astronomy at Iowa State University, effective July 1.

An Iowa State faculty member since 1979, Rosenberg succeeds Alan Goldman, professor of physics, who has completed a three-year term.

While at Iowa State, Rosenberg also has served as a senior physicist and program director for high energy physics with Ames Laboratory. He has been actively involved in the BABAR experiment at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center at Palo Alto, Calif., and with both the DELPHI and ATLAS experiments at CERN Laboratory in Geneva, Switzerland.

A member of the American Physical Society, Rosenberg was the recipient of a DOE Outstanding Young Investigator's Grant in 1980.
