SEVERAL EVENTS SCHEDULED FOR HOMECOMING 2002

AMES, Iowa -- Several events are planned for Homecoming 2002, "Catch the Cyclone Craze," Oct. 6-13, at Iowa State University.

A new event is the "Red Raider Scavenger Hunt," Oct. 7-11. Students, faculty, staff and Ames residents can join the search for a particular object, with clues available each day in the Iowa State Daily and on the ISU Alumni Association's Web site, http://www.isualum.org. A prize will be awarded to the individual who finds the object.

The annual Habitat for Humanity Blitz Build will be Oct. 7-11 at 2501 Hoover Ave., Ames. Those wishing to help with the construction of the single-family home must pre-register because the number of volunteers is limited. Registration information is available at http://www.isusalc.org/homecoming/2002/habitat.html.

Other Homecoming '02 events include a parade through campus and campustown (5:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 11); a concert by Life in General on central campus (9:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 11); the annual Alumni Association honors and awards ceremony (7:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 11, Scheman Building); an alumni tailgate and the Homecoming football game against Texas Tech (6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 12). A Homecoming Golf Outing will be 8 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 13, at Veenker Memorial Golf Course.
