OPEN HOUSE/RIBBON CUTTING FOR NEW BUILDING AT ISU RESEARCH PARK

AMES, Iowa -- Representatives from Iowa State University's Research Park, three tenant companies, the Iowa State Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship and the Ames Chamber of Commerce will hold an open house/ribbon cutting for the opening of building four at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 29, in the building's atrium, 2711 S. Loop Drive.

The new building allows the three companies to accommodate growth and consolidate operations. Ajinomoto U.S.A. Inc., a food enzyme development company, is moving to the park from the Iowa State Meat Lab. CombiSep Inc., a biotechnology instrumentation company, is combining its operations from several separate offices across campus, and Phytodyne Inc., which develops tools for plant biotechnology, has moved from a shared lab space facility to their own office suite.

"The companies residing in this space represent the best of Iowa's economic future," said Steve Carter, president of ISU's Research Park. "That future would not occur without the State of Iowa as a committed partner in the development of Iowa's new economy."

Funding from the Physical Infrastructure Assistance Program (PIAP) provided through the Iowa Department of Economic Development (IDED) helped make the new building possible, Carter said.
