The students, from the ISU Horticulture Club, will join other Iowans who are in Oklahoma City planting one tree for each of the victims of the April bombing. The linden and crabapple trees are being planted on the Oklahoma state capitol grounds, said Jeff Iles, assistant professor of horticulture. The effort is led by a statewide horticultural group, the Iowa State Horticultural Society. Iowa nursery workers and some community college students already are in Oklahoma planting trees. "The state's horticulturists are trying to repay Oklahomans for their assistance to Iowans during the floods of 1993," Iles said. "We're trying to put something positive on the tragedy down there." A dedication ceremony for the tree memorial is Sunday, Nov. 19, in Oklahoma City. The Oklahoma State University horticulture club will host a reception for the ISU students.
