ISU LAUNCHES SEARCH FOR UNIVERSITY RELATIONS DIRECTOR

AMES, Iowa -- Nominations for a director of university relations at Iowa State University are being sought by the recently appointed search committee. David Holger, professor of engineering, is chairperson of the search committee.

The director of university relations oversees several units, including news service, internal communications and photo service. The director also serves as the spokesperson for the university.

"University Relations is an important and highly active department, literally involved in all aspects of the university," said Murray Blackwelder, vice president for external affairs. "The director of this department oversees our external and internal communications efforts, which promote the accomplishments of our faculty, staff and students. The position also has a central role in creating, coordinating and communicating key messages about Iowa State's strengths as a land-grant university."
