FINALISTS NAMED FOR ASSISTANT VP FOR ENROLLMENT AT ISU

AMES, Iowa -- Three finalists have been named for the position of assistant vice president for enrollment at Iowa State University. They are: David Bousquet, director of undergraduate admissions at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg; Don Kajcienski, owner of Don Kajcienski & Associates, Las Vegas, Nev., a marketing consulting service for non-profit organizations; and Ron Moss, director of admission and enrollment management at Southern Methodist University, Dallas.

The assistant vice president position is new, resulting from a reorganization in Iowa State's enrollment services areas (admissions, financial aid, new student orientation and special recruitment programs). The assistant vice president will report to the vice president for student affairs and coordinate the total recruitment effort in enrolling the new undergraduate class each year.

Each of the finalists will have a two-day campus visit in July, during which they will meet with students, faculty and staff and administrators. Each candidate will give a 20- to 30-minute public presentation on "Changing the Culture: Moving into the Enrollment Management Mentality," and field questions from the audience. All the presentations begin at 9 a.m. Monday in the Memorial Union Pioneer Room. Following are the dates of each forum.

July 1 Ron Moss

July 8 David Bousquet

July 15 Don Kajcienski

Previously, he spent more than eight years at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where he started in the office of veterans affairs (1977-1979), held several acting positions in student activities (1979-1981) and served as a staff assistant in academic support services (1981-1984). He became assistant director, freshman admissions, in 1982 and was associate director, freshman admissions, from 1984 to 1985.
