ISU TO HOST CONFERENCE ON GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATIONSYSTEMS

Iowa State University will host Iowas second annual conference on geographic information systems (GIS) Monday and Tuesday, October 78, at the Scheman Continuing Education Building, Iowa State Center.

Concurrent sessions are designed for beginning and advanced GIS users as well as managers/decision-makers interested in policy and implementation issues. Those new to GIS will learn how GIS and related technologies are being applied in Iowa. Vendors of GIS technologies will hold informal workshops Monday morning.

Last years event drew more than 350 people from government, private industry and academia.

The conference will be hosted by the Iowa State University Center for Transportation Research and Education (CTRE) and sponsored by the Iowa Geographic Information Council.
