ISU HELP CENTER OPEN FOR STUDENTS AUG. 24-25
AMES, Iowa -- Iowa State University will have a Help Center open on Saturday, Aug. 24, and Sunday, Aug. 25, to assist students and parents with questions at the beginning of the new academic year. The ISU Help Center will be in 210 Beardshear.
Several university offices also will be open to help students.
The Help Center office hours will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. There will be a Help Center hotline that people can call during the Help Center hours. The number is (515) 294-4469.
The Help Center will be staffed by ISU personnel from the registrar's office, financial aid, admissions, parking, dean of students, orientation and Cyclone Aides.
Other offices open during Help Center hours are: Treasurers Office and Accounts Receivable, 122 Beardshear; Minority Student Affairs, 301 Beardshear ; ISUCard, Memorial Union Northwest Lounge; Off Campus Center, B6 Memorial Union (basement); Computation Center and Telecommunications, Durham Building; Parking Systems, Armory; and Department of Residence, 1215 Friley
Free parking for students and parents will be available along Morrill Road for easier access to the Help Center.
Several other services will be available to students during the first weekend of the new academic year. The ISU Student Health Center, Student Service Building, will offer full clinic care from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Urgent care will be available noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
The University Book Store will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
ISU recreation facilities also will be open Saturday and Sunday. The Lied Recreation Athletic Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, and 9 a.m. to midnight on Sunday. Beyer Hall and State Gym from open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday. The Beyer Hall pool will not be open on either day, however.
