JISCHKE WILL CHAIR NASULGC'S COUNCIL OF PRESIDENTs

AMES, Iowa -- Iowa State University President Martin C. Jischke in 1997 will serve as chair of the Council of Presidents of the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges (NASULGC).

NASULGC is a group of approximately 200 public universities and land-grant institutions working to support high-quality public education. Founded in 1887, it is the nation's oldest higher education association.

After serving a year as chair of the Council of Presidents, Jischke will serve as chair-elect of NASULGC's Board of Directors in 1998 and will chair the Board of Directors in 1999.
