MINORITY, INTERNATIONAL ENROLLMENT UP AT ISU

AMES, Iowa -- Iowa State University minority and international student population has increased.

There are 1,703 minority students at Iowa State this fall -- nearly 4 percent more than last fall. The number of students increased in all four ethnic groups included in the minority student category -- American Indians/Alaskan Natives, African Americans, Asian/Pacific Islanders and Hispanics. Minority students make up 6.8 percent of the student body.

The number of international students is also up 1.7 percent to 2,566 students. International students make up 10.3 percent of the student population.
