ISU OFFERING CERTIFICATE PROGRAM IN PUBLIC MANAGEMENT

AMES, Iowa -- Iowa State University is offering a new certificate of public management program for active public administrators who wish to continue their education and ISU graduate students.

The 15-credit graduate program is offered through the public administration program in Iowa State's political science department. Classes are offered during the evening and are available over the Iowa Communications Network.

Nine credits are taken in core and research method courses, including intergovernmental relations, public personnel administration, policy analysis and program evaluation, and public budgeting and financial management. The remaining six credits are taken from a selection of electives in political science.

People wishing to enter the certificate program must be accepted into the master of public administration degree program. All courses taken toward the certificate may be applied to the master's program without further admissions requirements.
