ISU PROFESSORS TO VISIT IOWA'S MALAYSIAN SISTER STATE

Three Iowa State University textiles and clothing professors have been invited to meet with business, government and museum officials in Iowa's sister state of Terengganu, Malaysia.

The professors - LuAnn Gaskill, Mary Littrell and Sara Kadolph - will discuss with Malaysian officials the effect of globalization on the design, production and marketing of Malaysian textiles. They also will visit cottage industries and retail establishments to observe first-hand the challenges owners face in successfully operating small businesses.

Following the Terengganu research project, the professors will visit the capital city of Kuala Lumpur, where they will meet with colleagues in the faculty of human ecology at the Universiti Pertanian to share ideas concerning small business and entrepreneurship.
