ISU SEMINAR PLANNED ON HORTICULTURE THERAPY: NURTURING WITH PLANTS

AMES, Iowa -- A seminar on the therapeutic benefits of plants will be Wednesday, Feb. 12, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Scheman Continuing Education Building at Iowa State University.

"Horticulture Therapy: Nurturing With Plants" is designed for health-care professionals and volunteers. Speakers will cover trends, services, equipment and projects that make gardening more enjoyable for all, including the elderly and physically and mental challenged.

Professionals can earn 0.5 general continuing education units at the seminar.

The seminar is sponsored by ISU Extension, the ISU horticulture department, Iowa Health Care Association, Younker Rehabilition Center, Iowa Council of Health Care Centers, Story County Extension Master Gardeners and Reiman Gardens CoHorts.
