SECTION OF OSBORN DRIVE TO CLOSE FOR THREE DAYS

AMES, Iowa --A short section of Osborn Drive on the east side of the Iowa State University campus will be closed Monday, May 12, through Wednesday, May 14. Construction crews must dig up the road to extend a storm sewer north to the Intensive Livestock Research and Instruction Facility, under construction on the east side of Kildee Hall.

The work will begin Monday morning and, if the weather stays relatively dry, should be completed sometime Wednesday. The work will affect a 20-yard section of Osborn at the eastern edge of Lush Auditorium/Kildee Hall.

Gary Houdeshell, ISU's construction manager on the project, said he hopes to keep open southbound access to Knoll Road, which runs between Agronomy and Bessey halls. Drivers who need access to central campus are asked to enter at the west end of Osborn Drive.

The CyRide bus routes (Green, Blue, Orange, Brown and Purple) that normally use Osborn Drive instead will run on Pammel Drive, one block to the north. Temporary bus stops will be set up on the north and south sides of Pammel Drive. Routes should remain nearly on the same time schedules.
