THREE ISU STUDENTS ADMITTED TO TOPEKA HOSPITAL

AMES, Iowa -- Three Iowa State University students have been admitted to the Stormont Vail Regional Medical Center, Topeka, Kan. The students, part of ISU's solar car team were involved in an accident this morning just south of Topeka.

The students admitted to Stormont are Karla Abrahamson, Andrew Earhart and Brian Galvin.

The students were returning from a qualifying competition for Sunrayce 97, a biennial solar car race.

Seven other student who were riding in the van in which the accident occurred were treated and released. There were a total of 18 students returning from the Mesa, Ariz. qualifying event. All of the students will be staying in Topeka after over night arrangements were made by the hospital.

Iowa State University has notified the parents of all of the students involved in the accident.
