NORWEST OFFICER TO SPEAK ON IOWA'S ECONOMIC

FUTURE APRIL 9

AMES, Iowa-- Larry J. Wipf, vice president and director of regional economics for Norwest Corp., Minneapolis, Minn., will present "Outlook for the Economy and Interest Rates: What Does that Mean for Iowa?" Tuesday, April 9, at 2 p.m. in the Memorial Union Gold Room.

At Norwest, Wipf is responsible for regional, agricultural and industry analysis and forecasts. He has done extensive research in the areas of U.S. farm policy and foreign impediments to U.S. agriculture exports.

He currently serves on the board of directors for the Minnesota Council for Economic Education. He is also a member of the Minnesota Department of Finance's Economic Advisory Group and the Iowa Economic Forecasting Council.
