WOI AM/FM LISTENERS TO HEAR SOME CHANGES

AMES, Iowa -- WOI AM/FM listeners are going to hear a few changes in the station's programming.

On-air personality Todd Mundt is leaving WOI on Sept. 19 to take a position with Michigan Public Radio (WUOM, WVGR and WFUM) in Ann Arbor. Mundt has been locally hosting National Public Radio's morning news magazine, "Morning Edition." The Boone native joined the WOI staff in 1994 and worked at the station while an Iowa State University student in the mid-1980s.

"Todd has helped WOI achieve an extra sense of warmth and friendliness during the early morning program," said William McGinley, WOI general manager. "We will miss his enthusiasm and dedication, but we wish him well."

Mark Moran, WOI's statehouse bureau chief, will step in to host the local segments of "Morning Edition" on the AM service.

Mundt's vacancy on WOI's Midday program will be filled by several of the station's familiar voices including Joyce Russell, Rachel Jeffreys, Rick Fredrickson and Moran. ISU's Extension Market News Director Doug Cooper will continue to co-host the program.

WOI's Talk of Iowa also will see some changes. Longtime host Don Forsling will be re-united with Charity Nebbe in the production of this daily, call-in talk show. Nebbe worked with Forsling on WOI FM's Morning Report (6 to 7a.m.) while a student at ISU. She will assist with production of Talk of Iowa and share in hosting duties.
