ISU RANKS IN NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLAR TOP 15

AMES, Iowa -- Iowa State University ranks in the top 15 universities nationwide that enroll National Merit Scholars, according to a new annual report.

The National Merit Corporation's 1998 report ranks ISU 14th among all universities enrolling Merit Scholars and sixth among all public universities. ISU enrolled 111 National Merit Scholars in the fall of 1998.

ISU also ranks fourth among all Big 12 schools and first among Iowa colleges and universities that enroll National Merit Scholars.
