EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION SCHOLAR TO SPEAK AT ISU OCT. 28

AMES, Iowa – Susan Kontos, professor of early childhood education at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind., will speak at Iowa State University at 4 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 28, in the Gallery of the Memorial Union.

Kontos, a 1980 Ph.D. graduate of Iowa State’s College of Family and Consumer Sciences (CFCS) in the human development and family studies department, will speak on "Health Life Start: Early Intervention for Infants and Toddlers." The lecture is free and open to the public.

Kontos, former director of Purdue’s Center for the Family, is an authority on early intervention for children with disabilities. She is also the 1999 recipient of the ISU Alumni Association Professional Achievement in Family and Consumer Sciences Award.
