IOWA STATE TO HOST JOHN PAPPAJOHN LECTURE OCT. 22

AMES, Iowa -- John Pappajohn, CEO of Equity Dynamics, Inc., will deliver the annual Bacon Ethics Lecture for Iowa State University’s Murray G. Bacon Center for Ethics in Business at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, in Room 205, Carver Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

Pappajohn’s speech is on "Ethics in Financing Start-up Companies." The lecture will be broadcast from Iowa State via the Iowa Communications Network (ICN) to the four other Iowa Pappajohn Entrepreneur Center locations: Drake University, North Iowa Area Community College, the University of Iowa, and the University of Northern Iowa.

Because of limited seating in the Carver Hall room, Iowa State will have an ICN viewing site in Room 160 of the Scheman Building, Iowa State Center.

Pappajohn is a well-known Iowa businessman. He has served on the board of directors of more than 40 public companies and many private firms. He is a member of The Society of Financial Analysts and the Association for Investment Management and Research. He was named Iowa Business Leader of the Year in 1992 and entered the Iowa Business Hall of Fame in 1996. He also serves on the National Committee for the Performing Arts, Kennedy Center Board.

The Murray G. Bacon Center for Ethics in Business was established at the ISU College of Business in 1993. The Iowa State College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the philosophy department also are center supporters. The mission of the center is to help Iowa students and businesses understand and come to grips with ethical dilemmas facing business now and in the future.
