ISU engineering students partner with 3M on innovative design challenge

Iowa State engineering students were selected to participate in an exclusive, and innovative, design challenge with 3M. The team of 8 students were 1 of just 4 teams selected to design a container that would be used in airdrops during medical emergencies. The box needed to be able to survive a 40 meter drop, a submersion in water, and still be repurposed in another way to aid in during the emergency. The team's design worked wonderfully, and their experience applying classroom knowledge to a real-world problem was invaluable.
