Investigation continues in gun incident reported at Willow Hall

AMES, Iowa -- ISU Police continue to investigate the March 16 incident in which a gun was reportedly displayed to several witnesses in Willow Hall. Investigators are in the process of identifying and interviewing potential witnesses who may have more information about what occurred prior to, during and after the report was received.

No weapon has been found. Several extensive searches of common areas in and around the Maple-Willow-Larch complex have been conducted. Searches have included hallways, dens, bathrooms, toilets, trash receptacles, ceilings, rooftops, elevator shafts and landscaping areas.

Police urge the campus community -- especially those who live or work near the Maple-Willow-Larch complex -- to report any suspicious activity. Anyone who finds a firearm, or pieces of a firearm, should not handle it, but immediately call ISU Police at (515) 294-4428.
