Reiman Gardens to close during remaining ISU home football Saturdays

AMES, Iowa -- Iowa State University's Reiman Gardens will be closed to the public on the remaining four Cyclone home football game Saturdays: Oct. 4, Oct. 18, Oct. 25 and Nov. 15.

Reiman Gardens Volunteer Coordinator Pat Kunz said the move is simply a practical one.

"Heavy traffic surrounding Jack Trice Stadium and limited parking at Reiman Gardens during home football games has made it difficult to fill volunteer spots to staff the gardens; plus, there were few guests attempting to visit with all of the other activity going on," Kunz said.

Reiman Gardens remains available for private rentals on game days, and essential staff will still report for butterfly release and plant watering duties that are required every day.

Reiman Gardens is open daily at 9 a.m. except on home football game Saturdays, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. For more information, visit www.reimangardens.iastate.edu.
