Iowa State's Gold Star Ceremony to honor fallen soldiers will be Nov. 10

AMES, Iowa -- This year, Iowa State University's traditional Veterans Day Ceremony will be at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, in the Memorial Union Great Hall. It is free and open to the public.

Iowa State's popular Gold Star Ceremony honors fallen soldiers who are former Iowa State students. Three from the Korean War and one from the conflict in Afghanistan will be honored and their names engraved on the wall of the Gold Star Hall. Each soldier's life will be remembered during the ceremony through personal stories and photos compiled with the help of the servicemen's family and friends.
