Iowa State graduate finds success in the classroom and the community

Markus Flynn wasn't sure if he made the right decision to come to Iowa State. Ames was much different than where he grew up, 15 minutes south of Chicago. But instead of pulling away, Flynn committed himself to becoming more involved in the classroom, and in the community. He became a McNair scholar, a mentor, and president of the Black Student Alliance. And after graduation, he plans to stay at Iowa State to complete his graduate program.
