ISU students improve prison landscape

Some Iowa State landscape architecture students have spent their summer designing and building a rejuvenating outdoor space for correctional officers at the prison in Mitchellville. Working side by side with many of the inmates, the ISU team has built a patio, memorial garden, benches and walkways. The students also have planted more 200 trees to beautify the grounds and provide shade and windbreaks to the officers and the offenders.
