ISU Sesquicentennial series to air March 15-17

A three-part series celebrating 150 years of Iowa State, from its land-grant roots to its high-tech future, will air March 25-27 on Mediacom's access channel (channel 22 in Des Moines and Ames) . KCCI news anchor Kevin Cooney will host the series, which airs from 7 to 8 p.m. each night.

Iowa State researchers developing system to efficiently convert biomass to ethanol

A team of Iowa State University researchers led by Victor Lin, a professor of chemistry and director of the Center for Catalysis, is developing a system of thermochemical and catalytic technologies to produce ethanol from plant biomass. Lin has already worked on his catalyst for a year and has filed a patent application.
